Muskox Hunts

Muskoxen in the Tuktoyaktuk hunting area are hunted from early March to April 30, the close of the season. Snowmobiles and sleds are used both to travel to the hunting site and to hunt muskox. Guides set up tent camps and from there, travel to the areas where the muskoxen are grazing. The camp may be moved several times during the hunt if the guide feels moving camp may improve hunting opportunities. All muskoxen hunts involve a 10-hour to 12-hour snowmobile ride to travel from our community to the hunting site.
